Dear friends in
Christ,
Greetings and love
from us both, if you expected a Christmas card from us and didn’t get one
forgive please. I am not at all well in the mornings and afternoon it taken up
with a wheelchair visit to Castle Hill Hospital where Sylvia is, and will be
till the middle of January having radio therapy after a cancerous thyroid gland
was removed.
Already being
bedridden unable to use her legs and me also after my back collapsed being
informed after X-Ray. I have osteoporosis of the spine; I can hardly walk and
have to take great care. My ulcer leg problem is so much better, praise the
Lord!
We are so thankful
for your love, kind thought and prayer and we are so cheered in whatever we
hear from you. A friend from college in the 50’s recently rang me, he had been
trying to contact me for over 50 years, and he has been a pastor in Sicily for
50 years.
I occasionally
preach from the home, but the Lord has provided a new outlet for ministry. I do
not claim to be a poet but I was encouraged by Trans World Radio and a number
of my “poems with a message” have been broadcast on the TWR satellite service
on the SKY platform and we hear of blessing. See attached poems.pdf
I have been
greatly blessed by observing the acclamation “O” as used in the Psalms. May I
refer to the 7 times in Psalm 30 – 3 times with regard to God’s gracious help –
“lifted up”, “healed” and “Kept” and in joyous response “give thanks”, “crying
and supplicating”, “have mercy” and “be my helper” and again “I will give
thanks”. The “O” is an expression of the reality in feeling. The Lord makes us
such people!
We have happy
memories of many of you especially when God has shown His hand in changing
lives in salvation. Thank you again for your love, prayer and support.
Rejoicing in the
Lord Jesus
